About: Music Player Daemon (MPD) allows remote access for
playing music (MP3 and Ogg Vorbis) and managing
playlists. The design focus is on integrating a
computer into a stereo system that provides
control for music playback over a local network.
Currently, it includes a Web interface, phpMp. The
goals are to be easy to install/use, to have
minimal resource requirements, stability, and
flexibility.
Changes: New features include buffer support for Ogg Vorbis, new config file options
(connection_timeout and mpg123_ignore_junk), new commands (next, previous,
and listall), and the ability to search by filename. A bug which occurred
when pausing during MP3 playback was fixed. New features in phpMp-0.5.5
include a new button for pause, prev and next buttons, the ability to
search by filename, post/js method for add_all, and an "unknown_string"
option in config.php. A new utility has been added, called
randomAddAndPlay.
