INSTALLATION GUIDE ================== The installation described below is for; Compex ReadyLINK Express 10/100Base-TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter. ** IMPORTANT: ========== If you loading EMM386.EXE v4.49 ensure to exclude memory range D000-DFFF e.g. add this statement in Config.sys, Device=C:\DOS622\EMM386.EXE noems x=d000-dfff Microsoft DOS Client 3.0 ------------------------ This assumed your CD driver disk is in drive D. If your CDROM has different drive letter then use your drive letter instead. 1. NDIS2 driver Installation a) Run SETUP in DISK1. b) When asked where the software to install, enter the location, e.g. C:\MSCLIENT c) Select "Network adapter not shown an list below ..." d) The Install Driver box appears. Insert driver diskette into floppy drive and type the path of the NDIS2 driver. Enter the driver location, e.g. D:\NDIS2 e) Select "Change Network Configuarion". f) Select "Add Protocol" and "Microsoft NetBEUI" to add NETBEUI protocol in. g) Follow the instruction to complete the installation. h) Reboot the PC and RE100ATX is now ready to access the network. 2. DOS ODI Driver Installation a) Run SETUP in DISK1. b) When asked where the software to install, enter the location, e.g. C:\MSCLIENT c) Select "ODI/NDIS Support Driver". d) Select "Change Network Configuarion". e) Select "Add Protocol" and "Microsoft NetBEUI" to add NETBEUI protocol in. f) Follow the instruction to complete the installation. g) Modify PROTOCOL.INI. Change all the lines BINDINGS=ODINSUPMAC to BINDINGS=RE100TX as shown by the arrows (<-----) below. (there should have three lines needed to be modified). Following is a sample for it. AUTOEXEC.BAT ------------ c:\NWclient\lsl c:\NWclient\RE100TX c:\MSClient\net initialize } These lines are added by C:\MSClient\nwlink } Microsoft DOS Client 3.0 c:\MSClient\odinsup } during installation c:\MSClient\netbind } c:\MSClient\net start } m) Installation completed. n) Reboot the PC and RE100ATX is now ready to access the network.
