Failed to open device /dev/usb/ttyUSB0: No such device

hello, i want to use my irda adapter, and i have to type #irattach /dev/usb/ttyUSB0 -d ma600 -s
but there is error saying Failed to open device /dev/usb/ttyUSB0: No such device
i look into /dev/usb, and ttyUSB0 does exist. so, how can i solve this?
the same thing happens when i try to #setserial /dev/usb/ttyUSB0, but if i do it other than root account,
the error would be /dev/usb/ttyUSB0: Permission denied.
please help me...

You probably need an entry in fstab with the user option set if you don't want to do it as root.
